Lishka Kill Middle School Auditorium
The South Colonie Central School District, located in the Capital Region of New York, has been a client of AVL Designs Inc. for quite some time with a series of small renovations. Most recently we were enlisted to help them with a great undertaking: the complete gut renovation of the Lisha Kill Middle School Auditorium!
This auditorium was significantly outdated, which called for updates on everything: stage rigging, theatrical lighting, audio, video, and acoustics, as well as overcoming some sound interference caused by mechanical noise.
AVL Designs Inc., working along with SEI Design, transformed the facility from antiquated to a top-notch performance space. It now has a brand-new design including all new theatrical and stage systems.
From the perspective of the parents, this redo is a game-changer. The audience can now actually HEAR their children when they perform. Previously the inability to hear the performers had been a major frustration and frequent complaint. The total transformation of the auditorium was meant to create an aesthetically appealing room with excellent acoustics, thus solving the intelligibility problem, which it did!

- All-LED color-changing theatrical lighting and architectural accent lighting
- Digital console-based audio system
- Video system upgrades
- Acoustic treatments
- Quiet HVAC system design to address previous noise issues
